Hello FlexPack backers! 

You’ve got questions about the survey, about add-ons, and this whole Backerkit situation. It’s a little confusing…innit? Have no fear! We’ve got an FAQ for you!  

Backerkit FAQ   

Q: I’d would like to add ClickPro as an add-on, but it says "Sorry, your transaction has been locked down for processing?” Is this option not available anymore?   

A: We will unlock the Backerkit survey, and then will lock down every order we’ve received on September 4th PST. So, please feel free to make your add-ons or change your address during this time period. Please understand that we lock down the survey as to accomplish the fulfillment as soon as possible.  

We know many of our backers are busy and live busy lives, so they may not have time to log in to the Backerkit survey and fill it in during this window over the course of the next couple days. So, we will unlock the survey again on October 4th for any remaining backers. 

Bottom line: Please sure to make fill out your Backerkit survey as soon as possible, then we will deliver your pledge as soon as possible too.   

Q: I can’t find the survey in my inbox. What do I do?   

A: We sent the survey via email. If you don't see it, please check your spam or junk folder. If you still can't find the survey, please DM us on Kickstarter.  

Type C Charging port   

Finally, our team has accomplished the Type C charging design. But, there is one thing we have to make it clear to all of you… 

Before the Kickstarter campaign, we stated that the charging port will come with a. USB port b. Micro 

During the Kickstarter campaign, we stated that the charging port will come with a. Type C b.USB port c. Micro 

After communicating with our charging accessory producer, we have had to redesign the charging port. 

We’ve sourced 20 charging accessory producers and tried our best to perfect the design and the mass production. For prototypes, it’s good to control the charging port quality, but it can produce unfortunate results for mass production. After the campaign is ended, we ran a trial of 100 pieces with mass production. We found that 65% of them failed as the combination design (a. Type C b.USB port c. Micro) makes the charging port complicated. 

Thus, we changed the design to a combination of: a. Type C b. USB port 

Making this decision was hard for our team.

We are not stopping  

And we are not stopping to deliver the FlexPack to you! Our QC team is following up with our manufacturer’s mass production. We’re smooth sailing and believe your FlexPack will arrive on time.

Soon, you’ll receive an email from us with a special link to your BackerKit survey. Please check your inbox which is connected with your Kickstarter account, and fill in your shipping information at your earliest convenience. The survey is the key to us having your shipping information. We need this information to process the next important step of delivery. For early backers of our campaign, we are providing an add-on option. You can get an extra ClickPack Pro, Flexpack Go, Flexpack Pro at a very decent price. If this is of interest to you, just select the ClickPack Pro, Flexpack Go, Flexpack Pro as an add-on item and follow the payment options.

We are currently in contact with logistics companies to ensure that you receive the FlexPack Series on time – by the end of September and the middle of October. This has been our promise all along and we intend to keep it.

STRETCH GOAL #2 

We are deeply sorry for the miscommunication about our second stretch goal. The Korin team all specialize in our specific areas of production/design/user experience/quality control, etc. Ariana was doing her best to communicate with backers about the stretch goal, and our quality control team was working hard to make it happen. Unfortunately, making the FlexPacks has made it difficult to talk down costs with our manufacturer. We know many of you dislike hearing about costs, but it is a reality of making things. As a result, we couldn’t move forward for the second stretch goal. The truth is, we designed two products for a single campaign; each product has a MOQ to run for mass production. As our campaign quantity is not as high as our previous campaign, we were unable to reach the MOQ. So, the cost for our company became much higher than we expected. It’s hard to admit failure, but this is why we were unable to unveil anything. We couldn’t get the numbers and answers we wanted from our manufacturers in order to relay a solid and unchanging stretch goal to you all. Therefore, if you have dropped your pledge as a result of not understanding what was going on, we apologize for the inconvenience and are very sorry. Thank you for your time, questions, patience and support throughout the entire campaign. We have to get back to work and work harder than we have already. See you in the next update!

Hello Flexpack backers,

We’ve been working on this update for a week! In the past week, we’ve worked with our manufacturer on mass production to ensure that every backer gets their backpack or duffle bag on time.

Here’s an update in regard to the interior of the Flexpack Pro and Go. You can see all the details of the backpack and duffle bag in these two videos.

There are a lot of backers that have been demanding that we make the Flexpack better by adding certain functions. But, please keep in mind that we are a small company doing the best we can. We really would like to add tons of functions to the backpack. But as a design company, we have to balance cost and the design, so it’s not always a simple equation or addition.

About the handle…

Hello Flexpack backers!

This is just a quick update. We wanted to give you a little information about the rubber handle on our bags. There’s been a lot of questions about it last week. Most of you are concerned as to whether the rubber handle is hard and strong enough to hold your things without breaking or snapping. Also, some want to know if it will keep its shape. We appreciate your questions because it gave us an opportunity to thoroughly test an aspect of the bag which we overlooked. Here’s what happened…

Our quality control team members visited our manufacturers to test the handle so that we could show you how it works. In this test, we loaded the backpack with 30kg worth of stuff. We also loaded the duffle bag with 30kg.

After a five minute test with 30g inside the bag, the rubber handles kept their shape and the handle could hold the weight well. As we’ve learned from our own experiences, as well as having many users of our products who travel frequently, most people only carry 7 to 10kg of stuff for a 3-5 day trip. So, we think you would be in good shape with the Flexpacks.
